The Masters Beach Volleyball in Nieuwpoort delivered both surprises and standout performances this year. As young talents claimed the Belgian titles, some favorites faced unexpected defeats.
Men: The Rise of New Talent
In the men's competition, Alexy Humblet and Kyan Vercauteren stunned everyone by capturing the Belgian title. In a thrilling final, they defeated the defending champions Martijn Colson and Dennis Deroey. Their emotions were evident after this victory. Notably, they also knocked out the experienced brothers Gilles and Louis Vandecaveye, the top favorites, in the quarterfinals.

Women: Dominance of Cools and Van den Vonder
In the women's competition, Sarah Cools and Lisa Van den Vonder dominated the entire weekend. The duo, currently ranked 49th internationally, convincingly claimed the Belgian championship. With this victory in hand, they now turn their attention to the European Championships in Apeldoorn. Britt Ruysschaert and Isabel Van den Broeck, the defending champions, finished in a strong second place. Former champion Els Vandesteene, alongside Maud Catry, secured the bronze medal.
