Belgian middle blocker Wout D’Heer (24 years old, 2.03 m) will join the top Italian club Cucine Lube Civitanova this summer. The Red Dragon has signed a two-year contract with the multiple Italian and European champions.

D’Heer arrives from Gioiella Prisma Taranto, where he stood out last season as one of the best blockers in the Italian SuperLega, the strongest league in the world. With his imposing presence at the net, he finished the season as the second-best blocker, catching the eye of powerhouse Civitanova.

Before joining Taranto, D’Heer spent three seasons at Itas Trentino, where he gained top-level experience, including playing alongside Serbian veteran Podrascanin. He now joins a rebuilt Civitanova squad preparing for the 2025–2026 season, with D’Heer among the key reinforcements and several core players renewing their contracts.

Last season, Civitanova had a strong campaign: they won the Coppa Italia and finished as runners-up in the Italian championship. This second-place finish qualifies the team for this season’s CEV Champions League, meaning D’Heer will once again compete at the highest European level.

The Belgian international expressed his excitement about the transfer:
“It’s a great honour to wear the Lube jersey. This is a dream for every volleyball player.”
