U17 Red Dragons Ready for Their First Big Adventure at the World Championship in Sofia
Tomorrow, the U17 boys will play their first match at the U17 World Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria. This tournament is a unique opportunity for the U17 Red Dragons to showcase themselves on the world stage for the first time. Led by coach Wim De Boeck, the team, consisting of a renewed squad with a strong mix of Dutch- and French-speaking talents, is on the brink of their first major adventure.
The ambition of the U17 Red Dragons is clear: to finish among the top eight teams in the tournament. "This is a realistic goal if we perform our tasks well," says coach De Boeck. "After that, we hope to cause an upset in the quarterfinals against the top teams." Although the road to success is long, the team cautiously dreams of a medal, just like the Young Yellow Tigers previously achieved. But the focus remains on taking one step at a time.
