A unique moment for our Topsportschool Vilvoorde. The girls from Nationale 3 secured the title after an incredible season. This didn’t happen on their usual EVC home court, but rather at Geel-Zwart Wijnegem.

Coach Vande Velde immediately sent us a flash interview after the match with a short analysis.
"It may not have been our best game, but Geel-Zwart played very strong. They made it a very intense match. Fortunately, we always managed to take control in the key moments, around 18-18 in each set, where we gained the upper hand. We proved that we are truly the best team in the league."

Topsportschool Vilvoorde registers four teams in competition each season, both for men and women, in Nationale 1 and Nationale 3. However, promotion and relegation are not possible, as the goal is to introduce young talents to a high level of play.

"At the beginning of the season, our objective was to win the title, although the competition turned out to be tougher than last year. With Noorderkempen and Olen as opponents, I wasn’t sure we could achieve this goal. For now, the standings are even: we lost to them, and they both lost to us. Last Wednesday, we delivered a very strong performance against Mortsel. The team was really determined to beat this top-5 side." said Vande Velde.

With one match left on the schedule, the girls want to finish the season on a high note.
"I am very proud of the team and their hard work throughout the season. They have grown and truly deserve this title. This weekend, we will play our final match in Wijgmaal, and hopefully, we will close the season with 20 wins and only 2 losses." Vande Velde concluded.
