Stunt work by Igor Grobelny and Dries Hoeyberghs

In the men's side, Igor Grobelny and his Project Warsaw teammates pulled off a stunt in Poland by inflicting leader Jastrzewski with the first defeat of the season: 3-1 and Igor scored 4 points (33%) on a number of substitutions. Kedzierzyn, Knack Roeselare's Polish opponent Wednesday (20h30) lost 3-0 at Gdansk and is only seventh in the standings as its two better playmakers were injured.
In Denmark also stunt work by coach Dieter Hoeyberghs, who defeated leader Gentofte with a 15-13 in the tiebreak with Nordenskov, bringing them closer to one point from the leader.
In Italy, Milan first won 0-3 against Monza (Ferre Reggers 9p) in a catch-up match, but then lost again at Verona in the tiebreak despite 18 points (41%) from Reggers. Civitanova, Greenyard Maaseik's opponent (Tuesday at 20h30), made it 1-3 against Cisterna. Loss by Trentino (Wout D'Heer two substitutes) at Modena: 3-1.
Perugia won the World Cup for clubs in Bangalore after a 3-0 final victory against Brazilian Minas and the same score in semi-final against Halkbank (1st ref: Wim Cambré).
In Turkey, loss for François Lecat and Tursad: 0-3 against Cisre.
Tough 2-3 win in Russia for Zenit Kazan without Sam Deroo against Kouzbas.
Win in Greece for Paok Saloniki 3-0 against Kifisias. Bram Van den Dries hopes to be recovered for the midweek match against Milan (Reggers).
Also no Liam McCluskey on the pitch in the Netherlands, in which Orion (with Hero as playmaker) did win 3-0 against Draisma.

In the CEV Cup, Chieri won 3-0 against Zeleznicar and Kaja Grobelna was recognised as top scorer (19p) again as mvp. But in Italy, it did suffer a 3-2 defeat at Florence, despite 25 points (46%) from Kaja.
After making firewood of V. Budapest in the Champions League without Britt Herbots on 66', Scandicci won the topper against Novara (Anne Buijs 12 - 27%)) late last night 3-1, with Britt (8p 38%) again doing well. Similar scenario for Milan, who won 3-1 against Mulhouse in the Champions League (Laura Heyrman 10, Van Avermaet 9) and without Heyrman 0-3 win at Cuneo. Busto Arsizio (without Sobolska) won 3-1 against Bergamo.
In Germany, loss for Dresdner (3-0 against Stuttgart, Nathalie Lemmens 4p - 57%); for Vilsbiburg (3-1 against Münster) with an off-day for Pauline Martin (5p - 12%). Wins for Celine Van Gestel (12p - 59%) and Aachen: 3-0 against Neuwied.
Queenseis (Lise Van Hecke) lost the last match of 2023 in Japan: 1-3 against Blue Cats.
Narrow 3-2 win for Mulhouse (Silke Van Avermaet 12p - 29% - 3 blocks) against Venelles and narrow 3-2 loss for Terville against Béziers (Elise Van Sas 3p - 25%).
Vital Heynen won 3-0 at Nilufer against Ankara Karayollari in Turkey.
Loss in Greece for Markopoulo and Lara Nagels (3p - 33% - 2 blocks): 3-0 at Thiras.
In Romania 3-0 win for Alba Blaj (Britt Rampelberg) against Lugoj, a 3-0 win for Ilka Van de Vyver and Voluntari against Bacau. Papa Julien also took a point with Targu Mures against Brasov.
Bekescsaba (Dominika Strumilo) lost the tiebreak in Hungary against Szent.
