17/04/2024

Great results from Belgian women abroad.

In Italy, it was clear that one Belgian player would reach the finals of the playoffs. Last week, Milan, with Laura Heyrman (2 points, 67%), and Scandicci, with Britt Herbots (9 points, 38%, 63% reception), played the semi-finals of the playoffs. Scandicci won 0-3 and is now certain of its place in the final against Conegliano.

In Romania, two Belgian women are playing for the title with their team: Britt Rampelberg won the second match with her team Alba Blaj against Rapid Bucharest (3-1). Ilka Van de Vyver was prominent (7 points, 67%, 2 blocks, 3 aces) in her team Voluntari's win (3-1) against Targoviste. Final: Alba Blaj – Voluntari.

In Turkey, coach Vital Heynen and Nilufer Bulsa won 3-0 against Muratpasa, securing the seventh place.

In Germany, a top match in the first final where Schwerin won 3-2 against Stuttgart, the former European opponent of Asterix.

In France, the semi-finals are underway. Nantes won both the home and away matches against Le Cannet with 3-1, while Mulhouse secured a 1-3 victory against Levallois/Paris (Van Avermaet – 7 points, 4 aces, 1 block). However, Levallois/Paris won the return match in the golden set with a score of 13-15.

Sam Deroo in Russian final

Zenit Kazan won twice 3-0 against Urengoy (Sam Deroo 8p, 50%) and is now in the fight for the Russian title. The opponent could be Dinamo Moscow or Belgorod, who have each won one match against each other.

In the Netherlands, Orion (Liam McCluskey) won 2-3 the first semi-final of the playoffs against Limax. Draisma won the other semi-final: 0-3 against Lycurgus.

In Poland, Project Warsaw (Igor Grobelny) qualified for the semi-finals thanks to a 15-12 win in the golden set against Lublin. In the semi-final, they will face Zawiercie. The other semi-final will be between Rzeszov and Jastrzewski.

Deep disappointment in Italy for Trentino, the team of Wout D’Heer, who also lost the fifth and deciding match against Monza. So, no titles for Trentino this year. For the 'scudetto', it will be a duel between Monza and Perugia, who had already eliminated Milan (and Ferre Reggers).
