Silke Van Avermaet MVP Again in Italy
A relatively limited volleyball activity abroad, but in women's competitions, they went all out.
In Italy, Silke Van Avermaet started with an MVP nomination after scoring 8 points (36 % and 4 blocks) for Busto Arsizio, who won 3-1 against Vallefoglia. The top match was played in Novara in front of 3996 spectators, where the local team won in a tiebreak against Milan, with Laura Heyrman starting in the third set and scoring 8 points (50 %) and 5 blocks. Britt Herbots (8 points – 20 % and 61 % reception) won 1-3 with Scandicci against Perugia in front of 1300 spectators, placing second in the standings.
In Japan, a double victory for Lise Van Hecke and Marvelous Osaka: twice 3-0 against Gunma Green Mills. In the first match, the Waasland player scored 17 points (50 %), and in the second match, she rested. Queenseis played twice against Kawasaki: in the first match, Kaja Grobelna and her team lost (21 points – 35 %) 3-2, but in the next match against the same team, they won in a tiebreak, with Kaja scoring 23 points (39 %).
Dominika Sobolska (1 point) won in Poland, where GB Lodz defeated Opole 3-0.
In Germany, many Belgians faced each other. Stuttgart (with Pauline Martin 3 points (67 %) and Charlotte Krenicky 2 points (100 %)) defeated Potsdam (with Anna Koulberg 4 points – 36 %) 3-0. In Suhl (with Lara Nagels 4 points – 67 % – 2 blocks), Dresdner won 1-3, thanks in part to the standout Nathalie Lemmens (11 points – 64 % – 4 blocks).
In France, Britt Rampelberg (starter for 5 sets with 39 % perfect receptions) contributed to Venelles' 3-2 victory over Paris.
In Greece, Ilka Van de Vyver (1 point and starter for 4 sets) won with PAOK Thessaloniki: 3-1 against Thiras.
A High-Scoring Sam Deroo
Zenit Kazan continues to dominate the competition in Russia: a 3-0 win against MGTY Moscow, with Sam Deroo scoring 13 points (58 % and 2 blocks).
In Switzerland, Schonenwerd won 1-3 against UC Lausanne (Tim Bayet).
In Poland, Jastrzewski (Igor Grobelny 16 points – 26 %) won 1-3 against Gorzow, with Mathijs Desmet scoring one point in two substitutions.
In Italy, Wout D’Heer had an impressive match with Taranto (12 points, 64 % and 3 blocks), but it wasn’t enough against Piacenza (1-3; 29-31, 25-11, 23-25, 22-25).
In the Milan – Monza match on Monday evening, scores were high: 42-40, 28-26, 25-23. Ferre Reggers excelled as the top scorer of the match with 20 points (56 %). Louati was named MVP, but the public's choice went to Ferre.
