A sold-out Sportpaleis kicked off this anniversary edition of the Lotto Cup Finals with the Brabançonne. Knack Volley Roeselare and VT Decospan Menen competed for the second trophy of this volleyball season. Earlier this season, Menen had already claimed the Supercup.

Fiercely cheered on by a blue and green army of supporters, both teams remained evenly matched in the opening phase of the match. At a 14-14 tie, neither team could create a gap. Main attackers Dermaux and De Vleesschauwer were frequently called upon by the setters. It was Dermaux who, with two consecutive aces, created the first gap in favor of Roeselare. A serving streak that Menen could not recover from, leading to a 19-25 set win for Roeselare.

Van Elsen continued to block strongly in the second set, forcing Menen's coach Julien Lemay to call a timeout. Dermaux, a former Menen player, unleashed his full potential and extended Roeselare’s lead to three points from the service line. Led by experienced player Vandecaveye, Menen tried to close the gap. However, their risky attempts resulted in many errors. Roeselare extended their advantage to 9-16. The green legion sprang to their feet as Jelle Sinnesael entered the court. The fans gained new energy—would the team as well? A regrettable net fault concluded the second set, 14-25.

The third set started with errors from both teams, but the score remained balanced at 6-6. The supporters didn’t let it dampen their spirits, providing strong vocal support. D’Hulst understood the game perfectly and put the blue attackers in excellent scoring positions. Menen defended very well, making things difficult for Roeselare. At 11-11, the match could still go either way. The blue jerseys took control and entered the final phase of the set with a 15-17 lead. Rotty pushed Roeselare over the finish line. Menen had no immediate answer, although both supporter groups deserved the victory. Knack Roeselare claimed its 17th cup title with a 21-25 final set.
