10/04/2024

Things are heating up in the Italian playoffs. For instance, the match between Milan and Perugia lasted just under three hours. And one that ended with a sensation: Milan won 3-2. Ferre Reggers showed himself with a whopping 31 points (26%) and could deservedly call himself mvp. But it can't be celebration every time, understood Milan and Reggers losing 3-1 in the third match of the semi-final, in which Ferre came to 13 points (38%).

In the other semi-final, Trentino (without Wout D'Heer) won two of the three matches against Modena.

There is also a fight for fifth place and in it Padua won 3-0 against Civitanova and Mathijs Desmet scored 15 points (46%).

In Russia, Zenit Kazan also won their second match against Yenisej 0-3, Sam Deroo scored 7 points (55%). His team is therefore sure of a place in the semi-finals against Urengoy.

Simon Luka Vlahovic with Mladost Kastela, meanwhile, knows the opponent in the semi-finals of the playoffs: Mok Mursa.

In Greece, PAOK Thessaloniki lost the outward match of the play-off final 0-3 against Panathinaikos. PAOK then won the return match 2-3 (Bram Van den Dries - 10 points, 40%), but the Athenians were laureates.

Hélène Rousseaux promoted and not again

In Turkey, Aras Kargo and Bahcelievier promoted to the highest league, the Sultaner Liga. In the latter, Hélène Rousseaux did her bit. She and her team won the three play-off matches against Bodrum and Göztepe Kulübü. Hélène immediately signed her contract for next season with Kulübü, the team that just missed out on promotion to the highest division.

In Romania, the teams with Belgian players are doing well. In the semi-finals of the play-offs, Alba Blaj (with barely Britt Rampelberg on the pitch) won the first game at Rapid Bucharest. Ilka Van de Vyver (2 points) stood the whole match as playmaker at Voluntari, which went on to win 1-3 at Targoviste.

And in France, in the second game of the quarter-finals against Béziers (3-0), Silke Van Avermaet was once again declared MVP of the match after 12 points (75%). Her team had a tougher time in the third match in Béziers, but Silke (10 points, 39%, 3 aces) and her teammates still won 2-3. Thanks to these victories, the Mulhousiennes are in the semi-finals and will take on Levallois Paris. Terville (with Elise Van Sas) lost three times and are eliminated.
