Ferre Reggers and Britt Herbots conquer Italy

We repeat ourselves, but it's hard not to mention it when both Ferre Reggers and Britt Herbots are once again named MVP (most valuable player) in the prestigious Italian league.
For the men of Milan – a 1-3 win against Verona – Ferre Reggers was the top scorer of the match with 22 points at 62% and 3 blocks. On Thursday in Roeselare, they are warned about who to watch closely.

Still in Italy, Taranto lost 3-2 at Grottazzolina, although Wout D’Heer scored four points at 100% and two blocks, but did not play in the tiebreak.

On Monday night, Kedzierzyn won 3-1 against Gdansk in Poland, thanks in part to 14 points from Igor Grobelny (52%). Earlier, Zawiercie had won the top match against Project Warsaw – Maaseik’s opponent this Wednesday – with a 3-1 victory. Mathijs Desmet (6 points – 27%) contributed to Gorzow’s 0-3 victory at Bedzin.

Belgians are active again in Germany. Simon Plaskie was the top scorer for Berlin with 13 points and 50%, leading to a 3-0 victory against Karlsruhe. For the first time in a long while, Robbe Van de Velde got playing time from the third set with Düren. A good move by coach Christophe Achten, who saw his team trailing 2-0 at Giesen. But with Robbe’s entry (4 points at 38%), the tide turned, and Düren won in the tiebreak.

In Spain, Guaguas with Tomas Rousseaux (17 points – 57%) dominated Leleman (3-1).

In the Netherlands, Liam McCluskey with Orion helped to a 0-3 victory against Simplex Barneveld.

In Denmark, Nordenskov of coach Dries Hoeyberghs lost its first points with a narrow 3-2 win against DHV Odense.

Seppe Baetens won in Azerbaijan with Murov 3-0 against the co-leader.

Lara Nagels scores seven aces
Among the women, Milan in Italy easily won the duel against Cuneo 3-0 in front of 3727 spectators, with Laura Heyrman scoring 4 points (40%). Busto Arsizio (with Silke Van Avermaet 4 points – 40%) couldn’t match Scandicci, where Britt Herbots was named MVP with 13 points (57%).

In Japan, an initial 1-3 loss for Queenseis (Kaja Grobelna 20 points – 43%) against Ibaraki, followed by a 3-1 victory against the same team (Kaja 21 points – 50%). Same result for Osaka: first a 3-2 loss to Kawasaki (Lise Van Hecke 18 points – 37%), then a 0-3 win for Osaka (Lise 14 points – 45%).

In Germany, Lara Nagels pulled off a stunt with Suhl, scoring no less than seven aces, leading to a 1-3 victory against Aachen, and was named MVP of the match. Potsdam lost 3-1 at Wiesbaden (Anna Koulberg 5 points – 27%). The top match of the weekend was won 1-3 by Stuttgart, where Pauline Martin scored 18 points (37%) and standout Charlotte Krenicky added 6 points at 60%. On the other side for Dresdner, Nathalie Lemmens was limited to 8 points (45%).

Dominika Strumilo secured a win in Kazakhstan with her team Turan Turkistan, 3-1 against Irtish Kazkham.

In France, a 0-3 win for Venelles (with libero Britt Rampelberg) against Cannes.

In Greece, a 0-3 victory for PAOK Thessaloniki and Ilka Van de Vyver (4 points including 2 aces) against Athens.
