Celine Van Gestel, one of the Yellow Tigers' star players, has decided to quit Volleyball with immediate effect.

Celine Van Gestel (27) will soon graduate as a nutrition and dietary expert and wants to change her life.

Van Gestel played among others for Asterix Avo Beveren, Allianz MTV Stuttgart, Il Bisonte Firenze and last season she was active for Ladies in Black Aachen.

Celine Van Gestel has a nice record. Among other things, she won 5 Belgian Cups and as many Belgian Super Cups. At the last European Championships she was part of the Yellow Tigers, who reached the 1/8th finals, and she finished ninth at the last World Cup in the Netherlands.

"We will miss Celine hard but we have to respect her decision. We are especially grateful to Celine for her contribution to our sport. She will not be easy to replace. I will look for the best possible solution with the staff. Fortunately, there are talented youngsters eager to break through. The very important European Golden League are just around the corner. With the new regulations, we are aiming for the best possible ranking to qualify for the World Cup in 2025. Every match will be crucial." said Kris Van Snick, national coach of the Yellow Tigers.
