Bram Van den Dries to semi-finals in Greece

Good news for Dries Hoeyberghs: the Belgian has extended his contract with Nordenskov by a year, with an option for a further season. His team lost their final match of the regular season against Vestsjaelland (1-3), which means they are second in the standings. Nordenskov begins the play-offs with a match against number 7 Middelfart.


Bram Van den Dries triumphed in the last match of the regular competition: PAOK Saloniki won 0-3 from Finikas thanks to 16 points (60% and 3 aces) from the Belgian. PAOK are fourth in the standings, so they will face leaders Panathinaikos in the play-offs. The other semi-final will be between Olympiakos and Milon.


In Italy, the final match day of the regular season saw Wout D'Heer (8 points, 33%, 3 blocks) make an appearance at Trentino. The win went to Padua (Mathijs Desmet - 15 points, 47%): 1-3. Milan pulled off an exploit against Perugia: 3-2 win. Ferre Reggers scored 14 points (24%).
Quarter-finals from 6 to 27 March between Trentino - Modena; Civitanova - Monza; Perugia - Verona; Piacenza - Milan.


In Russia, Sam Deroo's team won 0-3 against Ugra.


In Croatia, Mladost Kastela (Simon Luka Vlahovic) lost 3-0 to Centrometal.


Tursad (François Lecat) lost 3-0 to Ziraat Bankkart.


In the Netherlands, Orion (without Liam McCluskey) let a 2-0 lead slip against Draisma Apeldoorn. The team therefore lost out in the play-offs, but qualified for the semi-finals.


In Sweden, coach Bart Janssen won 3-1 with Sodertelje against Uppsala.


Celebrations in Japan for Lise Van Hecke


Lise Van Hecke's Queenseis team (35 points, 50%) pulled off a surprise victory in the quarter-finals against her former team Hitsamatsu. The best achievement for Queenseis, who lost 3-0 in the semi-finals to Saitama Ageo Medici.


In Italy, Britt Herbots (8 points, 33%) and Kaja Grobelna (14 points, 34%) went head to head. Scandicci triumphed 1-3 against Chieri. Milan (Laura Heyrman - 3 points, 50%) won 3-2 against Rome. Dominika Sobolska (4 points, 50%) lost with her team (Busto Arsizio) 3-1 against Cuneo.


In Romania, Alba Blaj (Britt Rampelberg) won 0-3 against Bacau. Voluntari (Ilka Van de Vyver) won 3-1 against Constante. The Belgian players were only able to play one set. Freya Aelbrecht (6 points, 46%) lost with Targu Mures against CSM Bucharest.


Lara Nagels' team (4 points, 50%), Markopoulou, won 3-1 against Thiras.


Loss for Tursa (Vital Heynen): 0-3 against Halkbank.


A decisive match in Hungary. Dominika Strumilo (Bekescsebai) has to play a fifth match in the play-off quarter-finals. Her team lost its fourth match against Ujpest, so the score is 2-2.


An excellent Silke Van Avermaet (12 points, 50%) with Mulhouse, but leader Nantes was too strong: 1-3. The team remains fourth in France.
