What is the European Golden League?
The CEV European League is a country competition within Europe, divided into 2 Leagues: the European Silver League and the European Golden League. 12 countries participate in the European Golden League, including Belgium. The four teams ranked first then compete in the Final Four for a ticket to the VNL, the Volley Nations League. The host countries for the Final Four are Croatia and the Czech Republic, for both the men's and women's competition.
The top prize for the top four in the Golden League is around €225,000.
Red Dragons
This year, our Red Dragons will take on Croatia, Finland, Azerbaijan, North Macedonia, Portugal and Ukraine. The men play their first match on 18 May against Croatia. On 24 May, they will play their first match at home against Azerbaijan in Beveren.
Yellow Tigers
The women will take on Spain, Sweden, Estonia, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Ukraine this year. The Yellow Tigers will play their first match on 18 May against Spain. On 24 May, their opening match will also take place on home soil, where they will challenge Estonia.
