The Spanish city of Valladolid is hosting the Wevza U19 girls' tournament this week.

The Belgians took on neighbouring Netherlands in the opening match. After a two-hour tiebreak, the Belgian victory was on the scoreboard, 3-2.

Tomorrow, the Young Yellow Tigers will take on Portugal.
Coach Vande Velde: "A first match at a tournament is always difficult. We had to fight for victory until the very last points. The first two sets we had the advantage because of high service pressure. After a few substitutions, the Dutch took the upper hand. Fortunately, we were able to turn that around in the fifth set. Today's team performance was definitely okay, but tomorrow we want to do even better."
