Serbia beats excellent Red Dragons

The Red Dragons got off to an excellent start to the match. They find the holes in the Serbian block and score easily. Boosted by Deroo and D'Hulst, the Belgians build a two-point gap. It is 20-22. The Serbs shift up a gear and score five points in a row. The first set goes to Serbia, 25-22.

The second set starts with service misses by both teams. The Red Dragons make the fewest mistakes and take an early lead. Once again, Serbian class comes to the fore. With some ferocious serves, they turn the deficit into a lead. The signal for the Red Dragons to raise the quality of play a bit, and they do. The Belgians make it 12-17. In the third set, Serbia's intrinsic talent comes to the fore. The Belgians throw everything into battle but the Serbs play just that little bit better. The Belgians start the fourth set very well. They keep pace with Serbia for a long time. Reggers hits the ball on the canvas at 107 km/h. However, it does not stop the Serbs from building a gap. Serbia makes more direct points with service than the Belgians and that makes the difference in the fourth set. Serbia wins the match.
