How do the play-offs continue?

04/04/2025

The play-offs and the BeNe Conference are nearing their end, but for some teams the volleyball season is not over yet.

In the women’s competition, Asterix Avo Beveren has secured a place in the play-off final and will have home advantage in the first match. Their opponent will be the team that finishes second in the Champion Play-offs. The play-off final will be played in a "best of 3" format: the team that wins two out of three matches will be crowned Belgian champion and will qualify for the Champions League. The runner-up will also secure a European ticket. The team that finishes third in the Champion Play-offs will automatically receive a European ticket.

Thuismakers Brabo Antwerp VT currently leads the Challenge Play-offs, giving them, along with other teams from the Champion Play-offs, another chance to secure a European ticket through the Europe Play-offs.

In the Europe Play-offs, teams are divided into two groups. The first group consists of the winner of the Challenge Play-offs and the fourth-place team from the Champion Play-offs. The second group consists of the fifth and sixth-place teams from the Champion Play-offs. Each group will play two matches. The winners of both groups will then face off in a home-and-away match, with the winner earning a European ticket. For the other teams, the season will come to an end.

In the men’s competition, the top two teams from the BeNe Conference go directly to the semi-finals. This means Knack Roeselare is already guaranteed a place in the semi-finals. The other two teams from the BeNe Conference, along with the top two teams from the Challenge Play-offs, will first compete in the quarter-finals.

The quarter-finals are played in two groups. The first group consists of the third-place team from the BeNe Conference and the second-place team from the Challenge Play-offs. The second group consists of the fourth-place team from the BeNe Conference and the winner of the Challenge Play-offs. In the quarter-finals, teams will compete in a "best of 3" format, with the winner advancing to the semi-finals and the other teams ending their season.

The semi-finals will follow the same structure, with two groups and a "best of 3" format. In the first group, the second-place team from the BeNe Conference will play against the winner of quarter-final 1. In the second group, the BeNe Conference winner will face the winner of quarter-final 2.

The winners of both semi-finals will advance to the final. The team with the most points after the play-offs will have home advantage. The final will be played in a "best of 5" format, with the team that wins three out of five matches being crowned Belgian champion. Both finalists will also secure a spot in the Champions League.
