Belgians abroad: Silke Van Avermaet starts with stunt in France
The women did not get much time to recuperate from tough OKT matches in various European competitions.
In France Silke Van Avermaet did not let it get to her heart and with 9 points (at 60%) she and Mulhouse provided a first stunt by beating champion Le Cannet 0-3 in their own hall. Setter Elise Van Sas (4p) also contributed her bit in Terville's 2-3 away victory at Marcq-en-Baroeul.
In Romania, libero Rampelberg made her debut with a 3-1 win by Alba Blaj against CSM Bucharest. Also, playmaker Ilka Van de Vyver won with Targoviste 3-0 against Bacau. Coach Julien Van de Vyver had to watch his new team Targu Mures suffer a 1-3 home defeat against Constanta.
A solid performance in Germany for Pauline Martin, who with 18 points (59%) helped her team Vilsbiburg to a 0-3 victory at Neuwied. Less success for Nathalie Lemmens (5p - 22%) at Dresdner, which lost 0-3 at home to Potsdam. Celine Van Gestel (8p - 32%) also had to watch her team Aachen lose 0-3 to Schwerin at home.
In Italy, Britt Herbots made a cautious debut with Scandicci. With 6 points (43%) she helped her team to a 3-0 win against her former team Firenze.
At Chieri they had hoped for a win against rival Novara, where ex-Asterix player Anne Buijs was good for 10p (38%) to the disappointment of captain Kaja Grobelna in the other camp: 9p at 29%. Result: 0-3.
Great Belgian performance in Milano - Busto Arsizio 3-0 (21, 10 and 12 counter points!). However Dominika Sobolska turned out to be the visitors' top scorer with 11 points (57% and three blocks). However, Milano did have vedette Egonu, with a new-look good for 19p (59%), and especially Laura Heyrman, standout with 9 points at 78%. That's what they call a calling card!
