Annelore Bex and Inès Piret Conclude U19 World Championship with Impressive 5th Place
After an impressive journey at the U19 Beach Volleyball World Championship in China, Annelore Bex and Inès Piret concluded their tournament with a well-deserved 5th place. The duo, participating in a world championship for the first time, successfully navigated a challenging qualification round and delivered strong performances, reaching the top 8 in the world.
In the quarterfinals, Bex and Piret faced a formidable opponent. The match started promisingly; the girls won the first set and seemed on their way to a historic place in the semifinals. However, their opponents came back strong, and after an intense battle, Bex and Piret ultimately lost 2-1.
Coach Janne Devos expressed her disappointment with the result but also emphasized the pride she feels for her team. "It's a shame to end the tournament with a loss, especially when you're so close to a semifinal. We were so close, but it wasn't meant to be. Still, we must be incredibly proud of what we have achieved. It's the first time we've played in a World Championship with the girls, and to come through the tough qualification and finish in the top 8 in the world is a fantastic achievement."
