Annelore Bex and Ines Piret Advance to Maindraw at U19 Beach Volleyball World Championship in China
Annelore Bex and Ines Piret have successfully qualified for the maindraw at the U19 Beach Volleyball World Championship in China. Under the guidance of coach Janne Devos, they have navigated the tough qualification round and will begin the main draw of the tournament tomorrow.
Qualification for a World Championship in beach volleyball is particularly challenging. Teams must win three consecutive matches to advance to the maindraw, with a single loss meaning the end of their tournament. This makes the competition very intense, with many strong teams from Europe and volleyball nations like Canada, the USA, and Australia often entering with their second teams.
Bex and Piret have defeated strong opponents in the qualifiers. They first won 2-0 against Brazil, followed by a tense 2-1 victory over Poland, where they came from behind with 2 match points down in the second set. Their final qualification match ended in a 2-0 win over Finland.
Coach Janne Devos is pleased with her team's performance. "We have survived the qualification. The girls played three strong matches and did their best to advance. We are looking forward to the maindraw and hope to perform well there too."
